About the Designer
Farinaz Taghavi was born in Iran and immigrated to the United States at the age of 16. Although she has traveled extensively throughout the world, she has called Seattle her home for more than twenty years.
Taghavi received her Bachelor of Arts in Textile Design with a minor in Textile Sciences and Painting from the University of Washington. She has spent more than 20 years as Designer, Textile Designer, Creative Director, Founder and Principal of several companies dedicated to the design and manufacturing of garments.
Through her work both locally and abroad, Taghavi became fascinated by a multiplicity of world cultures. Inspired by diverse interpretations of femininity, Taghavi launched her most personal collection, the FARINAZ TAGHAVI Shirt Collection, in 2002.
“I have always loved quality clothing that is timeless and ageless. The shirts are designed with my customer in mind – classic and chic with flair. I love seeing women of all ages respond to my shirts and I hope to enhance their lives through my designs. I name each shirt after a human emotion – my collections are an assortment of feelings women experience.”
About the Collection
Design Components are sensitively balanced, textures are incorporated with thought. Cuts and stitching are streamlined to accentuate the curves of a determined woman with a strong sense of personal identity. Her looks are completed with a hint of flare and approachability, both evident in the crisp edges of the shirts and how they fit a woman’s body.
Bold statements leave room for individuality; Farinaz designs shirts with chic, fun, and intelligent women in mind. Each shirt is an expression which evokes both personal identity and creativity in her line.

Farinaz is heavily influenced by the modern edge of French women and their ability to dress flawlessly and effortlessly. She is also inspired by the drive of American women who continue to invent themselves with spirit in their fashion.
“French women can wear clothes that fit close to their bodies, their sleeves could be flying in the air, collar up, scarf around the neck-it all looks great…they can pull something out of their closet after 20 years and wear it like they just bought it.”

About the Fabric
Our Fabric comes from the premier mills of Europe primarily Italy and France. The same mills that supply us also supply numerous other high end lines such as Hugo Boss, Armani and Thomas Pink, and pride themselves on the superior quality they produce. In addition many fabrics are custom colored specifically for the Farinaz Taghavi Shirt Collection.
